Likely to be sent off the favourite, Kinross is a very smart individual, who won this race in 2022, and who added the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood and the City of York Stakes to his honours board last summer.
Ralph Beckett’s seven-year-old was last seen at Goodwood 46 days ago when finishing a decent third of eight in his Lennox Stakes defence, and although five lengths adrift of the victorious Audience, he ran much better than the bare result suggests.
That race developed strangely and Kinross was caught further back than his connections might have hoped, but he should find this race more to his liking.
He is in top nick so hopes will be high that he can show his true self and land the odds to take this Group 2, a level at which he is well proven, and any performance close to his best should see him right in the mix to win an intriguing renewal.
