A return to turf brought a couple of runner-up near misses at Windsor in the spring, while his fifth-of-nine finish back on Wolverhampton's artificial track last time out a month ago was actually a better run than the result suggests.
The handicapper appears to have responded kindly, reducing Tyger Bay to the same mark at which he enjoyed his last win in December 2022, and his next success seems likely to come sooner rather than later.
