Charlie Appleby's Epsom Derby hero Adayar has suffered a setback and will be sent straight to Ascot rather than contesting the Coronation Cup at Epsom.
Charlie Appleby's Epsom Derby winner Adayar has suffered a slight setback and will miss the Coronation Cup to be targeted at the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Last year's Derby champion Adayar was due back on the track for the first time since coming fifth in the Champion Stakes at Ascot last October.
The Frankel colt beat Mojo Star by four and half lengths in the Derby last year and followed up in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes at Ascot.
However, Godolphin handler Appleby says that Adayar has had a minor setback and will now head to the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Ascot on Wednesday, June 15.
The Sea The Stars colt has progressed well from a Newbury maiden win in May, moving to the Group 2 Prix Chaudenay at ParisLongchamp, which he won on Arc weekend.
