Cheltenham Festival News: Tiger Roll game for second in Glenfarclas Chase

Tiger Roll bowed out in style with a close second in the Glenfarclas Chase cross-country race at Cheltenham. The legend was only beaten narrowly by stablemate Delta Work.

Tiger Roll bowed out bravely from a stellar racing career with a second place in the Glenfarclas Chase at Cheltenham, losing out to fellow Gordon Elliott horse Delta Work.
Delta Work's win was met with booing from the Cheltenham crowd with Tiger Roll denied a winning swan song by his Gigginstown House Stud companion.

Like all the races since the rains came at Prestbury Park, the event turned into a staying test over the varied obstacles of the cross-country course.

Various horses vied for the lead including Easysland and Back On The Lash but class told ultimately as Tiger Roll and the Grade 1 winner Delta Work went head to head over the final furlong.
Eventually, Jack Kennedy got up on 5/2 favourite Delta Work leaving the crowd to rue the lack of a victorious send off for their hero Tiger Roll.
But Tiger Roll's owners can savour a brilliant career with the 12 year-old still rocking and rolling into retirement.
