Shishkin just gets the better of Energumene in epic Clarence House

The thrilling prospect of Shishkin Vs Energumene Round Two moved a step closer after both were confirmed for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham on March 16.

Round 2 of the ding-dong battle between Nicky Henderson's Shishkin and Willie Mullins' Energumene moved a step closer as both were confirmed for the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham on March 16.

The two titans feature in 10 confirmations for the two-mile showpiece at Cheltenham.

Lucky punters will see a rematch from the Clarence House Chase which proved to be one of the most thrilling duels in recent years.

Seven Barrows send Shishkin for a third Festival success, having already taken the Supreme Novices' Hurdle and Arkle Trophy.

Willie Mullins' other entry Chacun Pour Soi has yet to win outside of Ireland but appeared back to his best at the Dublin Racing Festival.

Meanwhile anther British entry, Team Skelton's Nube Negra was runner-up to Henry de Bromhead's Put The Kettle On a year ago and the pair will go at it again in the Champion Chase. Irish handler De Bromhead could also run Envoi Allen.

The Venetia Williams-trained Funambule Sivola is an interesting outside chance for Team GB on the back of his victory in the Game Spirit Chase.

Gary Moore's Editeur Du Gite had to miss the Game Spirit after a late setback but does have two Cheltenham wins to his name this season and comes to the Champion Chase as one of the bigger priced confirmations.

Politologue is set for what could be the final outing of his career for Paul Nicholls, as he looks to regain his crown from 2020, while Gordon Elliott's Battleoverdoyen completes the list.
