Chelmsford free racing tip: Course-distance winner worth an each-way punt on all-weather return

There’s plenty of all-weather action to enjoy on Thursday evening, and one of our tipsters has his eye for each-way value on a course-distance winner who could defy his massive price.
17:10 Chelmsford: Winged Horse Equine Supplements Handicap (1 mile 2 furlongs)
In a market very much of two halves, the top half-dozen are separated by barely three betting points, with Switchel and Early Morning Dew expected to lead the way under Oisin Murphy and Sean Dylan Bowen respectively.
However, the bookies may have missed an each-way trick or two deeper in the betting, with one or two outsiders looking generously priced in a wide-open 14-runner handicap that has an extra place up for grabs.
All of which brings us to course-distance winner, Sun Festival, whose only two outings this year have come on turf, and a positive response is expected as he returns to his preferred synthetic surface.
Not only that, but he returns to the track where he returned figures of 123 in the back end of last year, with another runner-up spot at Wolverhampton squeezed in between, so after those two underwhelming turf performances, a bounceback could well be on the cards for Joseph Parr’s six-year-old.
Sun Festival is weighted just one pound higher than his last winning mark, and with the seven-pound claim of jockey Alice Bond helping his cause even further, he could well feature more prominently than his hefty price might suggest.
