Aintree Festival 2023: William Hill Handicap Hurdle tip - No Ordinary Joe could be something special

The William Hill Handicap Hurdle is very much one for the pinstickers and each-way specialists, so we hope our friends from Tipstrr can help us to pick the wheat from the chaff among the 22 runners.

Originally run in 1989, this popular handicap hurdle race was granted Grade 3 status in 2014 and has been reclassified as a Premier Handicap for this year's renewal.

Last year's race was won by Langer Dan who has since graduated to win the Coral Cup at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
The jury is clearly out within the Tipstrr community regarding where to find the winner of this wide-open handicap, so we've landed on a couple of each-way picks.

First up is Nicky Henderson's No Ordinary Joe who won his season debut outing at Kempton and was much better than his eventual ninth place appears in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury in February.

Only the impressive Iroko finished ahead of him in the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham last month and he looks primed to go well again with Nico de Boinville back in the saddle.

Suggested bet: No Ordinary Joe each-way in the 14:20 at Aintree

Our first-choice each-way punt, Benson, has unfortunately been withdrawn, so we're plumping for our next most popular outsider pick, which is Gordon Elliott's bottom-weighted Off Your Rocco.
He is yet to recapture the form that saw him win four of his first five starts, but he has been eased back in after an extended break.

He finished a respectable 10th of 26 in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham last month to build hopes of progress, while the three-pound claim of jockey Kieren Buckley is another plus.

Each-way punt: Off Tour Rocco in the 14:20 at Aintree
