Aintree betting tips: Trends point to Hasankey in the Red Rum Handicap Chase

Aintree
No luck with our trends analysis last week, so racing expert Andrew of Fiosrach is hoping to get back on the winning trail over the three days of the Aintree Festival.
We will be analysing one of the big races each day and we have already produced an analysis of the Grand National back in February.
I have used the following winning trends to reduce the field in an incredibly competitive Close Brothers Red Rum Handicap Chase on the first day of the Aintree meeting:
Using the trends above I ended up with a shortlist of three - Hasankey, Defan and Douglas Talking.
Suggested bet: Hasankey each-way in the 16:40 race at Aintree (Thursday)
The race has tended to be won by horses of seven years of age or younger and carrying eleven stone one pound or less.
Defan seems to be the stable second string with Rachel Blackmore riding the more fancied Dancing On My Own, so despite the stable having a decent recent record in the race I have ruled Defan out.
Lucinda Russell's Douglas Talking is one of the fancied runners and she has had a good record at Aintree in the festival recently.
Douglas Talking has won five from eight chases including the last two and won very impressively last time out.
Horses that missed Cheltenham have won seven of the last eight runnings of this contest and Douglas Talking skipped Cheltenham. Despite him going up ten pounds I think he has further improvement to come and with his jumping being very slick I would expect him to go very close here.
Hasankey has a seven-pound claimer on board, which could a positive with four recent winners being ridden by conditional jockeys. Hasankey would need to improve dramatically to win here, but it would not be a surprise to see him challenge for the places.
He also has another key statistic on his side as he has not won more than three chases, as those that have more than three wins are 1/109 (which ruled out Douglas Talking).
