Aidan O'Brien's Tuesday tops entries in Irish 1000 Guineas renewal

Aidan O'Brien has a wealth of talent in the filly division and his Tuesday is the favourite of 15 for the Irish 1000 Guineas on Sunday, May 22.
Tuesday is one for the diary on Sunday, May 22 as Aidan O'Brien's filly goes for the Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh as favourite.
15 were confirmed for the Group 1, worth £285,000 for the winner in Ireland.
Dermot Weld's Homeless Songs is currently second favourite after victory in the Leopardstown 1000 Guineas Trial where she prevailed by a length from Joseph O'Brien's Agartha.
Connections of Homeless Songs mulled over a go at the French Guineas won by Mangoustine but instead decided to see it out and wait for the Curragh.
Tuesday finished third at Newmarket in the 1000 Guineas and is one of four entries for O'Brien, the trainer who has won the prestigious race 10 times.
Ballydoyle have also entered Cornelscourt Stakes winner History, alongside Navan Listed winner Concert Hall and Galileo filly Lullaby who finished eighth in the Cornelscourt.
Other Irish contenders on home soil include Joseph O'Brien's Agartha, who was second in the Cornelscourt and Fozzy Stack's Hermana Estrella who was a 50/1 Group 3 winner last time.
A trio of British raiders cross the Irish Sea to take on the top Irish fillies including Charlie Appleby's Wild Beauty, William Haggas' Purplepay and Mise En Scene from James Ferguson.
Purplepay is intriguing as she changed hands for €2 million after switching from Cedric Rossi in France to Haggas in Newmarket. Purplepay was last seen placing third in the Criterium International at Saint-Cloud
Ferguson's Mise En Scene was pencilled in for the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket but pulled out late, after suffering a temperature at HQ.
"All being well she'll go to the Curragh," said Ferguson.
"She is in good order. Obviously we had to pull her out of the English Guineas, but we're looking forward to sending her over to Ireland seeing how she gets on."
The Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas takes place at the Curragh racecourse on Sunday, May 22. A total of 15 are due to go to the post in the Group 1 race, starting at 15.45 at the Irish course outside Kildare.
