Haydock nap May 20: Sense Of Duty can take step up in her stride

Haydock stages a high quality Flat meeting this weekend and Planet Sport’s Jonathan Doidge is turning his attention to the Lancashire track for his Friday selection.

Haydock Park is a lovely, left-handed, galloping track where Clerk of the Course Kirkland Tellwright and his staff do a super job of maintaining the ground, despite some pretty filthy weather at times.
It's not dissimilar to Redcar, where my selection Sense Of Duty won easily on her seasonal reappearance. It was that eyecatching effort that has me thinking she'll be very tough to beat in the Listed EBF British Stallion Studs Cecil Frail Stakes (14:30) on Friday afternoon.
Conditions at the track are described as good to soft at the time of writing, which should be for her, although any drying in the ground would be preferable.
She has a significant amount of improvement to make if she is going to trouble some of these opponents but she is with that master trainer William Haggas and I think that is entirely possible.
It's her first step out of novice company and I am taking her to make it a winning one under the excellent Cieren Fallon.
So to recap, it's Sense Of Duty to win the 14:30 at Haydock Park on Friday, May 20.
