April 9 Social Zone: A Masters ace, Rose’s heroics shot-by-shot and a 2003 throwback

The first round of The Masters threw up a few surprises, not least Justin Rose's effort of going -9 in his last 10 holes to lead by four at the close of play. Here's a look at the internet's reaction.

GOLF: The game of golf giveth and it taketh away. A round of +2 wasn't the end of the world for Tommy (even if he didn't like how he played), but this will stay with him forever.

GOLF: Bryson, you said last year that Augusta was to be treated like a par 67, not 76. Oh dear.

GOLF: Rory might be put in time-out after this. (Are you ever too old to be told off by your parents?)

GOLF: Imagine going -9 in your last 10 holes and playing the back 9 in 30 at Augusta. Not a bad day for Justin Rose - here's how his whole round played out.

GOLF: This clip from the 2003 Masters re-emerged on Instagram with this piece of absolute mastery from Tiger. Never gets old.

FOOTBALL: Away from Augusta, Arsenal did an Arsenal in the Europa League on Thursday night by conceding in the last minute against Slavia Prague. This was the most PG thing we could find on the matter.

FOOTBALL: Elsewhere, Manchester United opted for route one against Granada, but this touch and finish from the prime minis- Marcus Rashford was exquisite.
