MMA legend Chael Sonnen has slammed WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury over his fight with Francis Ngannou.

Chael Sonnen has hit out at Tyson Fury after it was announced that his next opponent will be Francis Ngannou.

Fury will return to the ring against MMA fighter Ngannou in Saudi Arabia in what will be a huge crossover event on October 28.

The Brit has not fought since his one-sided victory over a past-it Derek Chisora last December.

He has been in talks over an undisputed bout with Oleksandr Usyk but he has ended up taking an easier fight against an opponent who will be making his boxing debut in October.

Ngannou is regarded as one of the best heavyweights in UFC history and while this event will attract huge attention, it should be another easy fight (and cash grab) for Fury.
'The Gypsy King' has been heavily criticised for taking this bout rather than defending his world title against Usyk or another well-ranked contender.
Sonnen has gone further with his criticism of Fury, who is a "bully" for choosing Ngannou as his next opponent.
"What kind of a scumbag is Fury, though, man? I really gotta tell you, Fury broke my heart. I liked this guy, and I liked the entertainment. I like so many things about him," Sonnen said.
"You take a guy like Fury, who God made huge, gave great coaches, great training partners, great experiences, too. He has weapons and tools that other men can't deal with if they're not armed.
"And he's going to choose to use those to beat up a guy who's at least 37 with no experience and is on one leg. That's a bully, and it's a scumbag.
"I would never do that to somebody… Jesse James made a lot of money, and there's hitmen that made a lot of money. I mean, there's things that you can do, but you own it. You're a bully, and you're a scumbag."
