NFL Thanksgiving tips, picks and prop bets: Packers @ Lions, Commanders @ Cowboys, 49ers @ Seahawks

Christian McCaffrey

There’s wall-to-wall gridiron on Thanksgiving starting with the Packers at the Lions (1730 GMT) and culminating with the Seahawks hosting the 49ers on Thursday Night Football (0120 GMT Fri).

We're being treated to a tasty Turkey Day triple-header on Thursday and Planet Sport has picked out the best bets for all three games.

Packers @ Lions

The Packers are 4-6 on the season while Detroit are flying at 8-2. While the Lions are 4-1 at home and on the road, Green Bay struggles on their travels.

Their record away from Lambeau Field reads one win and four losses but it is worth noting their four losses have come by a combined 11 points.

On the other hand, the Lions' four wins at home have come by a combined 49 points and Green Bay’s 26th-ranked rush defence will struggle to stop David Montgomery.

Game picks: Detroit Lions -7 / Over 46.5 points

Best prop bet: David Montgomery over 66.5 rushing yards

Commanders @ Cowboys

The Commanders are 4-7 this season and face the tough task of visiting the 7-3 Cowboys for a divisional matchup at AT&T Stadium.

The thing to note about Dallas is that their previous six outings have fallen somewhere between an eight-point win and a 12-point loss.

They played a pair of games against the Eagles and forced overtime in one of them, losing by a combined score of 10, so they’re competing well.

Dallas have been destroying teams at home but early action in the market has pushed the spread from -9.5 to -12.5 and that may be too big.

Game picks: Washington Commanders +12.5 / Over 48.5 points

Best prop bet: Logan Thomas over 37.5 receiving yards

49ers @ Seahawks

If you look to the top of the scoring and yardage rankings in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers dominate most of them. Brock Purdy is also top of the quarterback ratings.

On the other side, however, is a mean defence led by Bobby Wagner and Devon Witherspoon that’s allowing just 18.6 points per game across seven outings.

Seattle are a solid 4-1 at home and when the 49ers do slip up, it tends to be on the road. They were beaten by the Browns and the Vikings recently.

One area where they do clearly fall short is rush defence. No team has allowed more yardage across the last four games, so Christian McCaffrey should be heavily involved.

Game picks: Seattle Seahawks +7 / Under 44.5 points

Best prop bet: Christian McCaffrey over 72.5 rushing yards
