Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets tips: Bet under the total plus these tasty prop bets

The New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills meet in the first Monday Night Football of the new season and we expect defence to win the day.

Aaron Rodgers and Josh Allen clash in the Big Apple on Monday but we're expecting defence to come out on top.

Bills @ Jets game pick

We say bet on the UNDER. The Bills are a tough, tough defence. They allowed just 17.9 points per game last season, making them just 0.7ppg better than who? The New York Jets.

There’s no doubt that the Jets have added real offensive firepower. Aaron Rodgers and Josh Allen are great quarterbacks, but it’s going to take the former time to build partnerships.

Bet: Under 46.5 points

Bills @ Jets prop bets

With our game pick in mind, we have to consider that the bet only lands if both quarterbacks struggle. New York could come good but it’s bound to take time.

It is worth noting that in his last season with Green Bay, Rodgers threw for 234 yards or fewer in 12 of 17 games. Tonight’s line is set at 234.5 and looks a worthwhile bet.

Prop: Aaron Rodgers under 234.5 passing yards - 10/11

Equally, the Jets' defence is going to need to have themselves a game if they’re going to get any change out of Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

Allen averaged a shade under 268 yards per game last season and tonight’s line, against a pretty good defence, is set at 250.5. Let’s go defence!

Also, don’t forget just how often the Bills managed to kill themselves in good spots due to turnovers last season. They may take fewer risks with the ball in week one.

Prop: Josh Allen under 250.5 passing yards - 10/11

On that note, do the Bills turn to their running game often enough to make some rushing props a worthwhile bet? Probably. They ranked 16th in rushing touchdowns last season.

There are a few candidates, but one player with a beatable number looks like Damien Harris. Harris’ physicality will be needed to batter down the Jet's stubborn defensive line.

Prop: Damien Harris over 24.5 rushing yards - 10/11

Last but not least, let’s see if we can find ourselves a touchdown scorer! Allen topped the charts with seven rushing TDs last season, while Stefon Diggs caught 11.

Leading rusher Breece Hall is questionable but expected to play on Monday. He picked up four in seven games last season.

We also won’t discount our man Harris if the Bills are trying to pick up those final hard yards deep inside the red zone.

However, we’re going to be homers. Garrett Wilson is only going to get better after his rookie season and with Aaron Rodgers tossing him the ball, we predict he’ll at least double his 2022 tally of four touchdowns.

Prop: Garrett Wilson to score a touchdown - 6/4
