Raiders @ Lions tips, picks and prop bets: Jared Goff to lead Detroit to victory
The Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders are looking to get back in the win column when they meet in the NFL on Monday night.
The Detroit Lions (5-2) welcome the Las Vegas Raiders (3-4) to Ford Field for Monday Night Football (0015 GMT Tues).
Raiders @ Lions game pick
The Lions and the Raiders are both looking to bounce back after suffering disappointing defeats last weekend.
Detroit were thumped 38-6 by the Baltimore Ravens while Las Vegas were blown out 30-12 by a Chicago Bears side claiming just their second win.
Monday’s matchup has the hosts pitted as a -7.5 favourite with the bookmakers and probably for good reason.
Detroit is on a 14-3 run against the spread, which is the best record in the NFL in the previous 17 game weeks.
They’re currently averaging 25 points per game with Jared Goff averaging 271 yards per game and throwing 11 touchdowns, giving him the sixth-best QB rating in the league.
On the other side, the Raiders are spluttering their way to 16 points per game. Their one-dimensional approach due to a lack of any rush game is causing problems.
The Lions actually have the second-best run defence in the league so it’s even more relevant that no team has thrown more interceptions than the Raiders.
Bet: Detroit Lions -8.5
Raiders @ Lions prop bets
Jimmy Garropolo is good for an interception week after week having thrown eight in five so far this season.
Prop: Jimmy Garopolo to throw Over 0.5 interceptions
Amon-Ra St Brown is averaging 8.5 receptions per game, but he’s questionable to play. If he doesn’t suit up, Josh Reynolds could make light work of his line.
Prop: Josh Reynolds Over 3.5 receptions
David Montgomery’s absence has only ramped up the amount of passing attempts from Goff who continues to let loose while in good form.
