NFL: Joe Burrow drops teasing update on fresh Cincinnati Bengals contract talks

Joe Burrow has revealed that the Cincinnati Bengals are working on his new contract, with the outstanding young quarterback having been due an extension since the off-season began.

The Cincinnati Bengals are working on a new contract for Joe Burrow, according to the man himself, with the quarterback having been due an extension since the off-season began.

The 26-year-old confirmed the ongoing extension talks during a press conference on Tuesday but said that he and the Bengals prefer to keep the details to themselves, for now.
"I'm involved. That's in the works," Burrow told reporters. "That's not really something that I like to play out in the media. That's something - just the way, I think, they want to do business, I want to do business, we prefer to keep that between us."
This off-season has already seen two of the top quarterbacks in the game ink long-term deals with their franchises.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed Jalen Hurts to a five-year, $255million contract in mid-April, followed by the Baltimore Ravens, who inked Lamar Jackson to a five-year, $260m deal.
Their respective deals caused Hurts and Jackson to become the highest-paid players in the leagues at one point, and the same will likely happen with Burrow when he finally signs his deal.
In his three seasons with the Bengals, Burrow has completed an impressive 68.2 percent of his passes while throwing for 11,774 yards and 82 touchdowns.

He also led the franchise to consecutive AFC Championship trips in the past two seasons and a Super Bowl XXIII appearance in 2021, and will be hoping to go one better in 2023.
