ATP Indian Wells: Casper Ruud vs Gael Monfils

Gael Monfils has already spent an incredible six hours on court in the ATP 1000 Indian Wells Masters.

Monfils will be out to get the better of Caper Ruud for the second time in as many meetings.

Their only previous clash saw Monfils best Ruud on clay in Quito although it was a three-set battle.

Ruud has since risen in esteem and is now the favourite to come out on top in this clash.

ATP Indian Wells: Daniil Medvedev vs Grigor Dimitrov

Daniil Medvedev has beaten Grigor Dimitrov seven times in ten meetings but it was the Bulgarian who came out on top in their last meeting at the Paris Masters last November.

Dimitrov has more wins to his name this season than Medvedev and you might argue that he has had the better season.

If Medvedev finds his best hard court form he should be the favourite for the Indian Wells title.

Dimitrov has a good shot at the upset given his form and how the last encounter went.

ATP Indian Wells: Luca Nardi vs Tommy Paul

Luca Nardi is out to snap a long run of players outside of the top 100 losing straight after beating the world No 1 when he faces Tommy Paul.

It will be a tough match to get up for for Nardi and he will need to play a very different game to come out on top.

Paul is chasing a first Masters title to join the ranks of players making their big title breakthrough this year.

This will be the first meeting between these two players.

ATP Indian Wells: Taylor Fritz vs Holger Rune

Taylor Fritz has beaten Holger Rune in their only previous meeting which came in Miami last season.

Fritz was the Indian Wells title winner in 2022 and could certainly use a deep run to secure a top-ten return.

Rune may outrank Fritz but with the American playing decent tennis this year and enjoying home support he looks like the favourite.

Rune hasn't put it together this term and this match might prove too much for him to overcome.

WTA Indian Wells: Diane Parry vs Maria Sakkari

While Maria Sakkari holds the far better ranking at the moment it has been Diane Parry who has enjoyed the better results this term.

Sakkari claimed another win over Caroline Garcia in the previous round, an opponent she has often defeated in big tournament runs.

Parry and Sakkari have not had any singles clashes on the WTA Tour at all.

Both players have good wins this week and Sakkari might just shade this one on big-match experience.

WTA Indian Wells: Elise Mertens vs Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff has a perfect 3-0 record in head-to-head clashes with Elise Mertens but this will still be a tough encounter.

Gauff has eased into her run at Indian Wells while Mertens has won both her matches in straight sets.

The head-to-head record suggests that Gauff has the beating of Mertens in this last 16 showdown.

Gauff has won five more matches on hard courts this term and will want to mount a serious challenge to closing in on the top-ranked players.

WTA Indian Wells: Emma Navarro vs Aryna Sabalenka

Emma Navarro will test her recent ascendancy when she faces Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka for the first time.

Navarro has battled through a pair of three-setters to reach this point in the tournament.

Sabalenka looked close to her best in putting away former US Open champion Emma Raducanu last time out.

Navarro is out to make the quarter-finals for the second week in a row but this might be the end of the road for her.

WTA Indian Wells: Yue Yuan vs Daria Kasatkina

Yue Yuan has to deal with in-form Daria Kasatkina in the first match between the players.

Chinese prospect Yuan has just broken into the top 50 but hasn't beaten too many players of Kasatkina's quality.

Kasatkina has been to a final this term but came up short in Abu Dhabi.

However, she is a resilient player and should have the beating of Yuan in this matchup.
