ATP Atlanta: Dan Evans vs Dominik Koepfer
Dan Evans is out to turn around poor recent form when he faces Dominik Koepfer for the fourth time.
This will be their first meeting in the main draw of a full ATP Tour event although Evans has won each of the previous clashes.
Evans has lost his opening match at his last two tournaments but does usually do well on hard courts.
Koepfer won his first main draw match on hard courts this season when he bested John Isner in the opening round.
ATP Atlanta: Kei Nishikori vs Juncheng Shang
Juncheng Shang pulled off a stunning victory over Ben Shelton in the first round to ensure progression.
Although Shang has the rankings edge on Kei Nishikori, that is largely down to the latter's injury woes.
Nishikori made a start that was good enough to suggest that he could regain his best level soon.
At the very least he looks fit and is moving well so Nishikori should have the quality to come through.
ATP Atlanta: Maxime Cressy vs JJ Wolf
It's an all-American clash when Maxime Cressy takes on JJ Wolf in the third meeting between the compatriots.
Wolf is currently ranked higher and defeated Cressy in their most recent meeting in Florence last term.
Both players cruised through the first round with little trouble and should be in good touch for this match-up.
Cressy won their only meeting on a outdoor hard court and just might have the beating of Wolf.
ATP Atlanta: Taylor Fritz vs Yibing Wu
Taylor Fritz won't need reminding of his last meeting with Yibing Wu when he went down in three sets in Dallas.
Wu has been on the up this season while Fritz has yet to reach the heights of his 2022 season.
However, back at home Fritz will be determined to put things right against the emerging Chinese star.
It won't be easy, but Fritz in three seems the likely outcome.
ATP Hamburg: Arthur Fils vs Dusan Lajovic
It is the veteran against the young gun as 19-year-old Arthur Fils is set to take on 33-year-old Dusan Lajovic.
Lajovic has the edge on experience but there is little to choose between their recent form and ranking.
The Frenchman has some big wins this term but hasn't achieved consistency quite yet.
It is Lajovic who has the better record on clay although both players have a level of comfort with the surface.
ATP Hamburg: Yannick Hanfmann vs Zhizhen Zhang
Yannick Hanfmann and Zhizhen Zhang will also meet for the first time in Hamburg on Thursday.
Hanfmann will be turning out on home soil and have the crowd behind him but will also be facing a steep challenge.
Zhang defeated recent titlist Francisco Cerundolo in the opening round, albeit after the Argentine retired injured.
Hanfmann's experience on clay is likely to prove the difference between the players.
WTA Hamburg: Bernarda Pera vs Diana Shnaider
Bernarda Pera has a chance to get one back in her rivalrly with Diana Shnaider having lost to the Russian last week.
Another meeting on clay will test the American but she should learn her lessons from Budapest.
Shnaider owns victory on the only previous meeting but that will serve to motivate Pera.
Pera has already defeated class players this week and will take some stopping now that she has found her feet.
WTA Lausanne: Clara Burel vs Emma Navarro
While both players had impressive matches first up it was Emma Navarro who blew the doors off.
Navarro double-bagled her first round opponent and goes on to a meeting with a woman she has already beaten.
There only previous clash came at WTA 125 level but it was recent and also came on clay.
Burel had a good win first up but Navarro is playing very well.
