Andy Murray facing race against time to be fit for Wimbledon after he pulls out of Queen's

Injury is threatening to rule Andy Murray out of Wimbledon, but Dan Evans believes he will make it.

Andy Murray has withdrawn from Queen's as concerns over his injured abdomen grow ahead of Wimbledon.
The former world number one appeared to be making some real progress this summer, with him producing some elite grasscourt tennis to reach the final in Stuttgart last week.
He injured himself in that final before losing out to Matteo Berrettini, and he now faces a race against time to be fit for Wimbledon, which is less than two weeks away.
"After having a scan this afternoon, an abdominal injury means I won't be fit to compete at Queen's this year," Murray said.
"The tournament means a lot to me, and it's disappointing not to compete, especially after playing some good matches on the grass already."
Queen's tournament director Luiz Carvalho added: "Obviously it's extremely sad that Andy won't be able to play here this year.
"Everyone at the cinch Championships wishes him a speedy recovery. We look forward to welcoming him back next year."
Andy Murray was hoping to earn enough points before Wimbledon to get himself into the seeds for the tournament, but that now looks highly unlikely.
His run at the Stuttgart Open got him to number 47 in the world, but an extraordinary amount of the players above him in the rankings for him to be seeded.
Fellow Brit Dan Evans said that, while Murray's situation is ''not ideal,' no one should be ruling him out of Wimbledon just yet.
"It's never easy for people to be injured, especially this time of year. It's not ideal, but if anybody knows how to prepare himself for Wimbledon, it's him.
"I don't think if he's playing this week or next week, in my opinion it wouldn't matter for his preparations as long as he can prepare.
"If he can still play tennis in a week or so, I think he'll be okay. So in that sense, it's not ideal, but it's not the end of the world for him."
