World Cup Qualifiers CONMEBOL acca: Colombia stun Brazil, stubborn Venezuela stands firm

The World Cup Qualifiers CONMEBOL continue on Thursday night and we’ve picked out a tasty treble for your viewing pleasure (Fri 0000 GMT).

Colombia play host to Brazil in Barranquilla, Venezuela welcome Ecuador and Chile will target all three points against Paraguay.

Colombia to beat Brazil

Venezuela double chance

Chile to beat Paraguay

Colombia vs Brazil

Colombia haven’t been beaten in 15 matches dating back to a 1-0 loss against Argentina in the previous World Cup qualifying campaign.

Nestor Lorenzo’s side will welcome the other giant of South American football in the early hours of Friday (GMT) and stand a good chance of extending their streak.

Brazil, minus Neymar, Casemiro and others, dropped five points in the previous international break and failed to register a single shot on target in Uruguay.

Venezuela vs Ecuador

Ecuador have been made a clear favourite to pick up all three points against Venezuela. While they may be the better side on paper, there’s been little between them.

The hosts have beaten Paraguay 1-0 and Chile 3-0 in their only home fixtures to date, and they’ve avoided defeat in three of four meetings between the sides.

Chile vs Paraguay

Chile’s campaign is not off to a flying start but they typically struggle at home. At home, La Roja have picked up four points and kept two clean sheets.

The hosts have kept four clean sheets on the spin at home and Paraguay’s previous form on their travels suggests that the run could be extended.

They’ve drawn a bank in nine consecutive away qualifiers, including a lacklustre 2-0 defeat in Santiago two years ago.
