Villareal vs Real Madrid tips and predictions: Los Blancos to end La Liga travels on a high

Despite winning the Spanish championship, Madrid are showing no signs of slowing down as they prepare to face a Villarreal who could mathematically qualify for Europe.

With an impressive run of nine consecutive victories in La Liga behind them, Carlo Ancelotti’s side is looking to end the season on a high note.

The Yellow Submarine produced a surprise win in the previous round when they beat third-placed Girona 1-0 to keep the European dream alive.

It was their second victory on the spin after beating Sevilla 3-2 in the previous round, leaving Marcelino’s team on 51 points through 36 matches. 

Meanwhile, Los Blancos were running riot in Madrid. Vinicius Junior (2), Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde and Arda Guler scored in a 5-0 thrashing of Alaves.

Ancelotti’s side can’t reach the magical 100-point mark, yet back-to-back wins to finish the season would carry them to 99, which has only been achieved three times in La Liga history.
