Scotland vs Finland tips and predictions: Scots face tough test in Euro 2024 send-off

Scotland’s final test before the start of the European Championship sees them welcome Finland to Hampden Park for a Friday night clash (1945 BST).

Make no mistake about it, qualifying for Euro 2024 was a major achievement for the Scots – especially with the likes of Spain and Norway in the group.

Steve Clarke’s men made a tremendous start to their campaign which included five straight victories.

However, since the autumn of last year, the Scots have endured a real dip in results.

With just one win from their last eight internationals – including friendlies – there’s been little to shout about.

That one victory came last Monday as Scotland ended their seven-match winless run with a steady 2-0 success over Gibraltar.

Finland are likely to pose a good challenge on Friday night considering they enjoyed a relatively successful Euro qualifying campaign.

The Fins finished third in their group with six wins from 10 matches and ultimately missed out on qualification after a play-off semi-final loss to Wales.

Scotland have won the last four head-to-head encounters and they will be determined to continue that run as they look to build some much-needed momentum.

With Germany waiting to host the Scots in the Euro opener, the Tartan Army will certainly need as much confidence as they can get their hands on.

Then again, Scotland will be cautious with squad selection as they look to avoid any last-minute injuries to their major names.

For Finland, this is somewhat of a free hit and we’re backing them to impress. Markku Kanerva’s side bagged two goals against Portugal recently and they are capable of scoring more against Scotland.

With that in mind, Finland to win and both teams to score is the way to go.
