PSV vs Arsenal: Champions League predictions, tips and bet builder as Gunners look to draw first blood

Leandro Trossard of Arsenal

Arsenal look to draw first blood in their Champions League round of 16 tie when they travel to Eindhoven to take on PSV on Tuesday night (2000 GMT).

Arsenal will be looking to make a charge for European silverware after the midweek Premier League fixtures made their title charge a tall ask, with the gap to Liverpool now 13 points.

Mikel Arteta's troops are making the trip to the Netherlands and are looking to draw first blood in the tie, but they have a poor record in the competition in recent years, having been knocked out at this stage in seven of their last eight Champions League campaigns.

PSV had to go through the play-offs to book their spot in this stage of the competition, stunning Italian giants Juventus in a 4-3 aggregate victory.

Our predictions are locked in for this intriguing European clash and you can read more about them below.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

Arsenal -0.25 asian handicap

Much has been made of Arsenal's goalscoring woes, but they are still a tough side to beat.

Mikel Arteta's team have only lost six games in 90 minutes this season and three of them have come against Newcastle.

PSV will fancy their chances given the Gunners' disastrous week, but Arteta still has plenty of talent at his disposal and we think that they'll leave the Netherlands with a draw at least.

Both teams to score

PSV are an exciting team to watch, both teams have scored in 13 of their last 14 games across all competitions.

That included a 3-2 win in the league phase against Liverpool, so it shows that they can find a way through even the toughest of defences.

Arsenal have also been scoring regularly in European action, they scored three or more goals on three occasions in the league phase.

Both teams to score looks like a good bet for the first leg of this tie.

Johan Bakayoko to score in 90 mins

In terms of PSV, one of their most exciting players is right-winger Johan Bakayoko and it is rumoured that he is attracting interest from some Premier League clubs.

Bakayoko already has double figures this season and was on the scoresheet for the victory against Liverpool.

We think that the winger will score in this tie and it is an option that has plenty of value at 17/4.

Over 10.5 corners

Arsenal are a team that rely heavily on set pieces as a way of scoring goals, so we can see there being plenty of corners in this game.
