MLS betting tips: Expect goals in Atlanta, Minnesota in our weekend accumulator

We’ve picked out the three games most likely to have over 2.5 goals in MLS this weekend and combined them into a tasty treble.

After our midweek goals double landed thanks to a 93rd-minute goal from Atlanta, the Five Stripes feature again in our weekend goals-based treble.

Over 2.5 goals treble: Atlanta vs Orlando, Minnesota vs LAFC, Vancouver vs LA Galaxy

Atlanta vs Orlando preview

Atlanta left it late against New England but got the job done. The teams combined for 40 shots as New England led 2-0 after nine minutes, but it took until the final kick to produce the third goal.
Orlando were humbled 4-0 by Real Salt Lake at the weekend, just days after beating Toronto FC 4-0 at home. Four of their last five matches have had over 3.5 goals.
Interestingly, the teams have produced an identical xG of 28.6 for and against in their roles as home and away team. Those games average 2.6 and 2.86 goals respectively.

Minnesota vs LAFC preview

Minnesota United have found their scoring touch. Unfortunately, it coincided with forgetting how to defend. After beating Portland 4-1, they lost 4-1 to Austin.
Their 3-0 midweek win over Houston was impressive, but we're also willing to write it off as one of those things. The hosts had 73% possession, 24 shots to eight and produced an equal xG.
United's extra bite in attack does mean exposing themselves at the back and although it's hard to know what to think of LA anymore, they should be able to score.

Vancouver vs LA Galaxy preview

Vancouver are averaging 2.10 goals per game at home this season and their previous four outings have averaged over 3.5 goals.
LA Galaxy have had a torrid season but they've finally found what works in the absence of Javier Hernandez. They're off the back of consecutive wins against Philadelphia and LAFC.
Before that, they drew 2-2 with Sporting KC and San Jose. There's always been a healthy rivalry between these sides and the Caps usually cause LA problems.
Last season, Vancouver won this fixture 3-0 at home and lost 5-2 on the road. The last four meetings in this stadium have had over 2.5 goals and both teams scoring is a common theme.
