Leeds United vs Hull City tips and predictions: Both teams on score sheet at Elland Road

Leeds United may be out of the Championship top two by the time they kick-off against Hull City at Elland Road on Easter Monday (2000 BST).

Leeds, Leicester and Southampton all dropped points on Good Friday and allowed Ipswich Town to steal pole position.

Things aren’t all doom and gloom, though, as the Whites remain second and earned a point more than the Foxes and Saints.

Matteo Joseph’s late goal rescued a 2-2 draw away to Watford and while the Hornets have endured a torrid time at home, it was a good point in the circumstances.

Daniel Farke was forced to disrupt the Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu axis which hadn’t conceded a goal in open play in 2024 until Friday.

Hull City also suffered a setback as they lost 2-0 at home to a Stoke side battling against relegation.

The Tigers were toothless despite dominating possession but we expect them to show no fear at Elland Road, which is the perfect opportunity to bounce back.

On one hand, Liam Rosenior’s side are now winless in five. On the other hand, they’ve only lost two of 11 and have become a threat on their travels.

They seem to be running out of steam at just the wrong time and if Norwich pick up points earlier in the day, Hull will be under massive pressure to pick up points at Elland Road.

That’s not easy to do as 15 of the last 16 visitors have tasted defeat and the stats will tell you that so easily could have been 16 wins on the spin.

The hope for the visitors will be that Leeds shuffle the pack again and they capitalise. They’ve scored at least once in 15 of their 17 Championship away games.

Notably, when Leeds play at home and Hull play away, the average time of the first goal is 24 minutes for the hosts and 24 minutes for the visitors.
