Bournemouth vs Brentford tips and predictions: Millions of pounds at stake as Cherries take on Bees

Bournemouth’s final home game of the season sees Brentford come to the Vitality Stadium as the two teams prepare for a Saturday afternoon Premier League clash (1500 BST).

As we head into the final two rounds of the Premier League campaign, a lot of the fixtures are susceptible to attaining the dead rubber status. But try telling that to the big cheeses at some of these clubs.

Prize money – or merit payments – in the Premier League are worth around £3m for each spot. This means if a club ends last, they will pick up £3m. The champions, on the other hand, will pick up over £60m.

Now that we have that nailed down, Saturday’s encounter between Bournemouth and Brentford becomes a lot more important.

Bournemouth could leapfrog West Ham into ninth with a win this weekend, though the Cherries are heading into that fixture on the back of a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Apart from that result, things have been going rather well for Andoni Iraola’s men who have lost just three of their last 11 matches in the Premier League.

Brentford have also enjoyed an upturn in form, losing just one of their last seven matches. The one major downside to that run is the fact the Bees have drawn four of those encounters and only picked up two victories.

Looking ahead to the weekend, we are siding with the hosts. The Cherries have won four of their last five matches at the Vitality Stadium while Brentford have only picked up one victory away from home in seven attempts.

Bournemouth to win the match and both teams to score is the way to go.

Team news

Bournemouth will be missing Tyler Adams, Ryan Fredericks, Luis Sinisterra and Marcus Tavernier.

Brentford, meanwhile, will be without Joshua Dasilva, Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey and Ben Mee.
