Craig Bellamy faces his toughest test as Wales boss when his side travels to Belgium on Monday night for a World Cup qualifier (1945 BST).

Craig Bellamy has enjoyed an unbeaten start to life as Wales boss, but is set to face his toughest test yet when he takes on Rudi Garcia's Belgium in a World Cup qualifier.

The unbeaten run stands at nine games, but those fixtures have come against teams that are a far cry from being judged as the heavyweights of international football.

Belgium aren't quite the fearsome team they once were, but they still have a good side with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Jeremy Doku in their squad.

However, they limped to a 1-1 draw against North Macedonia last time out so Wales will be fancying their chances of getting something from the game.

We've been looking at the best bets for this intriguing World Cup qualifying clash.

    Wales handicap +2

One of Wales' most famous days in their footballing history came against Belgium nine years ago when they stunned their so-called golden generation 3-1 in a Euro 2016 quarter-final.

The golden generation has pretty much gone, bar the experience of De Bruyne and Lukaku, and they have been far from the team that reached the top of the world rankings in recent years.

Wales will be confident and are top of Group J with seven points from three games, so the pressure is firmly on Belgium who had a disappointing start to their campaign when North Macedonia stunned them with a late equaliser on Friday night.

It will be the biggest test of the Bellamy era so far, but they could get something given the contrasting form of the two teams, so a Wales handicap +2 looks the way to go.

    Over 2.5 goals

Since Bellamy arrived into the dugout, Wales have found their goalscoring groove, with them scoring two or more goals on five occasions.

Meanwhile, Belgium's games have involved goals recently, with there being over 2.5 goals in five of their last nine games.

As well, in the last five meetings between these two, both teams have scored, so over 2.5 goals looks to be a worthwhile bet.

Brennan Johnson to score in 90 mins

The outside pick of our bet builder is Brennan Johnson to score for Wales.

The Welsh winger has enjoyed a good season for club and country, with 28 goal contributions (20G, 8A) including that all-important goal in the Europa League final.

He is yet to get off the mark in the World Cup qualifying campaign, but we think he could do that against Belgium.

Where to watch Belgium vs Wales

The game will be shown live on BBC One and S4C, while there will be radio commentary on BBC Radio Wales.
