Newcastle vs Burnley

Second round Carabao Cup games wouldn't normally be a big deal but considering both Newcastle and Burnley are winless this season, the importance of this tie is clear for all to see.

Steve Bruce and his men lost to West Ham and Aston Villa in their opening two games while Burnley fell to Brighton and Liverpool.

Last season, it was the Magpies who did a season double over the Clarets in the Premier League. More importantly, the both teams to score bet landed in each of those encounters.

With both clubs desperate for a morale boosting win, this is a market we can certainly get behind.

Newport vs Southampton

League Two's Newport County face a massive task in the second round of the Carabao Cup as they welcome Southampton to Rodney Parade.

Michael Flynn's side have recent cup history and they will be looking to draw inspiration from their 2018/19 FA Cup campaign which saw them reach the fifth round.

During that run, the club enjoyed a memorable giant killing as they beat Premier League's Leicester City 2-1 in front of their own fans.

A repeat of such result is possible but not likely which is why Southampton to win to nil is our acca recommendation.

West Brom vs Arsenal

All eyes this Wednesday night will be on Arsenal as they look to ease early pressure with a cup win against West Brom.

Following consecutive league defeats to Brentford and Chelsea, Mikel Arteta could certainly do with a confidence boosting evening in the Carabao Cup.

Unfortunately for the Spaniard, his team take on a West Brom outfit who are firing on all cylinders.

Valerien Ismael has got the Baggies playing high-line offensive soccer, a style which has helped the team to three straight wins.

Looking at the odds, the hosts are the ones to back in this one.

Brondby vs Salzburg

In order to secure their first Champions League group stage place since 1998, Brondby will have to come from behind against Red Bull Salzburg.

The Danish outfit lost the opening leg 2-1 and a lot of the bookmakers don't expect the hosts to mount a comeback.

Brondby are in poor form having lost three of their last four games. In fact, they are yet to win a competitive game this season despite already playing in seven of them.

Salzburg, on the other hand, have won all seven of their competitive games and look unstoppable at the minute. Our tip is to back the visitors in the outright market.

Dinamo Zagreb vs Sheriff Tiraspol

One of the most shocking results in the Champions League qualifiers this season was Sheriff Tiraspol's 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb.

The Transnistrian club - officially representing Moldova - are now just 90 minutes away from banking a historic first appearance in the Champions League group stages.

Dinamo Zagreb will be desperate to turn things around and with that in mind, our bet is to back the hosts to win. Whether they manage to get enough goals to progress is another story.

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Monaco

After securing a 1-0 victory away in France, Shakhtar Donetsk will be determined to kick on and bag a place in the Champions League group stages.

Monaco have it all to do but it's fair to say that Niko Kovac certainly has enough tools at his disposal to change fortunes around.

With regards to the betting, this game is far too close to call meaning the outright market is certainly one to avoid.

Instead, we're backing the under 2.5 goals bet in what promises to be another cagey affair.
