Toffees better beware a Bielsa backlash, plus six other Saturday acca bets

Everton's trip to Leeds is the pick of Saturday's Premier League matchups, with Manchester City and Celtic also in action and a top of the table clash in the Championship to enjoy.

Leeds vs Everton

A humbling 5-1 defeat at Old Trafford was a shock to the system for Leeds fans, but we're expecting a much better performance as the Elland Road faithful return en masse for the first time in over a year.

That alone should be worth a goal for Marcelo Bielsa's men, who are 13/10 favourites against an Everton outfit who came from behind to win against Southampton on the opening day but looked second best for much of the first half.

However, Rafa Benitez's men can take heart from the fact that Leeds struggled all of last season with crosses and set pieces, something that Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who scored more with his head last campaign than any other player, can exploit.

And with so little to choose between the sides despite events of the opening day, both teams to score looks the best option here, at 4/7.

Manchester City vs Norwich City

We don't imagine Pep Guardiola is the type to give his players the hairdryer treatment but you can bet he had some choice words for his side after a poor start to the season that saw them lose 1-0 to both Leicester in the Community Shield and Spurs last time out.

We're certain that Manchester City will be looking to make a statement at home to a Norwich side dispatched with ease by Liverpool on the opening day, and a quick glance at last season's results will make grim reading for the Canaries faithful.

When Man City lost at Spurs their next Premier League result was a 5-0 demolition of Burnley and when they were defeated at home to Man United they followed it up with a thumping 5-2 win over Southampton, which makes over 3.5 goals a tempting proposition at 17/20.

However, with City at home for the first time this season having conceded less than any side on home turf last campaign, we're going for Pep's men to win to nil at 4/6.

Aston Villa vs Newcastle United

Aston Villa's 3-2 loss at Watford last time out was a surprise to many fans, but Dean Smith will have been pleased with the way his side responded to falling 3-0 behind at Vicarage Road.

It's always good to see your new striker net in his first game too, and Danny Ings will feel a whole lot better heading into their clash with Newcastle.

As for the Magpies, it was very much a tale of two halves at home to West Ham, leading 2-1 at half time then conceding three second half goals in 13 minutes to leave the Toon Army shaking their heads once again.

Newcastle have lost their last two visits to the claret and blue side of Birmingham and have won just one of their last eight home and away against the Villans, and with a packed Villa Park roaring their side on once again, 4/5 on a home win is the pick here.

Crystal Palace vs Brentford

Brentford's first ever Premier League win was made even sweeter by the fact it came on home turf against one of the Premier League's "Big Six", and who could begrudge the lap of honour that followed at the Community Stadium.

However, when all the fan hugging and fist clenching died down you can bet Bees manager Thomas Frank wasted no time in plotting his side's game plan for their first-ever away Premier League match.

And after a performance of aggression, intensity and no shortage of skill, more of the same will be required at a Crystal Palace side smarting from a defeat at Chelsea which was over as a contest after 40 minutes.

A reaction can be expected from the Eagles and they are 6/4 favourites, but Brentford won more than every team except Norwich away from home last season, while Palace tasted victory in just six of their 19 games on home turf.
And with odds of 9/5 on the buzzing Bees to continue their fairytale start, we reckon that is the value bet here.

Brighton vs Watford

The performance of both sides last week has made this game into a far more intriguing matchup than it looked at the start of the season.

Graham Potter will have been delighted with the way his side rebounded from conceding a second minute goal at Burnley to secure a battling 2-1 win at Turf Moor, while Watford will have raised a few eyebrows after a barnstorming 3-2 victory over Aston Villa.

With an away record last season that was nothing to write home about and a relative lack of Premier League experience compared to their hosts, Watford are getting no love in the market at a mighty 4/1, which is surely the value bet here.
However, with eight goals between them we're not entirely sure both teams to score should be the right side of evens, but we'll gladly take 21/20 for that outcome at the Amex Stadium.

Celtic vs St Mirren

This will be Celtic's fifth home match on the run in all competitions and the Bhoys have taken full advantage, winning the previous four, keeping three clean sheets and scoring an average of over three goals a game.

And their latest result was probably their most impressive, winning 2-0 in a Europa League play-off first leg clash against an AZ Alkmaar side that finished just one point behind PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch top flight last season.
St Mirren have yet to win in the SPL so far and were knocked out of the League Cup on penalties to Livingston last time out, so it's safe to say the Buddies are not exactly firing on all cylinders, a fact reflected in odds of 1/4 on a Celtic win.
For extra acca value though we're zeroing in on the Bhoys to win to nil, at a top-notch 23/20.

Blackburn Rovers vs West Brom

Free-scoring West Brom top the fledgling Championship table after two wins and a draw from their first three games and the Baggies are the division's top scorers with nine goals after a 4-0 demolition of Sheffield United last time out.
However, Valerien Ismael's men are in for a tough time at Ewood Park against an unbeaten Blackburn side with the same amount of points, who won 2-1 at Nottingham Forest in their last game.
The Baggies are a tasty-looking 21/20 to boing boing their way to victory, but with both sides in top form we're happy taking 17/20 on both teams to score.
