Friday Acca: Derby County to continue recovery, plus five more belting bets

Club soccer is back and to celebrate, Planet Sport have picked out six bets you should include in your Friday night accumulator.

Derby County are one of the teams in action as they travel away to Birmingham. There's also a couple of League Two fixtures including current leaders, Harrogate Town.

Elsewhere, there are big games in Belgium and France as defending league champions, Club Brugge and Lille, look to start September with momentum building victories.

Don't forget, we also have a fantastic ACCA INSURANCE offer to help you out placing your Friday night wagers. This promotion is available to new and existing Planet Sport Bet customers, and full T&Cs apply.

Club Brugge vs Oostende

Club Brugge will be looking to go top of the table in Belgium when they take on Oostende this Friday night.

The defending champions have got off to a mixed start this season, winning three of their opening six games.
Oostende, on the other hand, started the campaign like a house on fire, winning three of their first four. However, two back-to-back defeats have seen them drop to eighth in the standings.

This is shaping up to be a close encounter but with Brugge winning nine consecutive head-to-heads, they're the ones to back in the outright market.

Birmingham vs Derby County

It's fair to say that Derby's start to the season has surpassed everyone's expectations.
Considering their off-the-field issues, many had written the Rams off before the ball was even kicked.

Nevertheless, with six points from five games, Wayne Rooney's men have shown an encouraging fighting spirit.

Birmingham, meanwhile, are a fast-improving side but one which still has a major consistency issue.

Lee Bowyer's men have eight points from five games and they'll need to overcome a poor run of results against Derby if they are to continue their rise up the table.

The Rams thoroughly enjoy their trips to St. Andrew's having won five and drew three of their last eight visits. With that in mind, we're backing Rooney's men to, at the very least, secure a point.

Barrow vs Colchester

Over in League Two, Barrow take on Colchester as the Cumbrian side target back-to-back league wins.
Both of these teams have major consistency issues as they struggle to string results together.
In head-to-head encounters, there's nothing to separate both clubs as their two meetings last season both ended in 1-1 draws.
This promises to be another close contest and backing the draw is the way to go in the outright market.

Harrogate vs Newport

Elsewhere, League Two leaders Harrogate Town will be eyeing their fifth win of the season when they take on Newport County.
The North Yorkshire outfit haven't wasted any time in getting out of the blocks having picked up 13 points from their opening five games.
Things are less fruitful over in Newport as the club look to end their two-match winless run in the league.
Newport have conceded 13 goals from their last four competitive games - a fact that will leave Harrogate licking their chops.
Bearing everything in mind, the home side are the ones to back in this one. But for a little extra value, we're recommending Harrogate in the handicap market.

Lorient vs Lille

Defending champions Lille travel to Lorient this Friday night as they look for just their second win of the season.
Major departures from the club mean Lille are highly unlikely to defend their title. In truth, they're not even expected to be anywhere near the top three.
Nevertheless, a 2-1 win over Montpellier before the international break will have done the Mastiffs a lot of good.
This game is too close to call meaning the outright market is certainly one to avoid. Instead, it may be worth backing the over 2.5 goals bet considering this fixture produced nine of them last season.

Sporting Gijon vs Leganes

La Liga 2 leaders, Sporting Gijon, are expected to continue their excellent start to the season when they host second-bottom Leganes.
While Gijon have bagged ten points from their opening four games, Leganes have only managed to take two as early signs point to a relegation battle for the Cucumber Growers.
Gijon have dominated this fixture over the years and are unbeaten against Leganes in 21 years.
Since their last defeat in 2000, Sporting have won eight and drawn six of their meetings with their upcoming rivals.
Based on that prolonged unbeaten run and early season form, Gijon represent the perfect acca addition in the outright market.
