Analysing the key Eden Hazard moments from Levante meetings gone by

Real Madrid will face Levante hoping to make it a La Liga double over their opponents, having beaten them 2-0 in October. Eden Hazard hopes to make an impact in the game; here's how he's fared before.

Eden Hazard will be hoping he can help Real Madrid bridge the gap between themselves and runaway La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid this weekend.

The Spanish giants welcome Levante to the Bernabeu on Saturday afternoon.
It is the 27th time the two sides have met, with Los Blancos boasting a healthy record of 19 wins in those games; Levante have managed to spring a surprise on just five occasions - most recently in February 2020. The two teams have played out three draws.
When Real Madrid and Levante go toe-to-toe there tends to be goals. On average, 3.41 goals are netted, so you may expect fireworks.
That should be music to the ears of Belgian star Eden Hazard, who will no doubt be champing at the bit to add to his goals and assists tally.
But it hasn't always been plain sailing for Real's number seven against Saturday's opponents.
Let's poke our nose through the stats.

Stat Attack

Hazard signed for the 34-time champions of Spain in June 2019, so has only played against Levante on two occasions - one win and one defeat. He was injured for Real Madrid's 2-0 victory over Levante in October.

The former Chelsea winger - who has scored just two league goals so far this campaign - made his debut for Real Madrid against this weekend's visitors in September 2019.

Levante have managed to keep the Belgian quiet in their previous two encounters, with Hazard not being able to contribute to any goals against the side from Valencia, so don't be surprised to see Hazard on a mission for revenge.

A frustrating evening for Hazard went from bad to worse as he was forced off in the 67th minute with a recurring ankle injury that would rule him out of the El Clasico and a Champions League tie with Manchester City that ultimately ended in defeat.
Hazard had started the game brightly, being at the heart of the good things that the men in their customary white strip did.
The away side's best chance of the second half fell to Hazard, who burst in behind the Levante defence but was unable to get the ball out of his feet, before forcing a comfortable stop for the keeper.
Jose Morales' 79th-minute winner was a strike worthy of winning any game, as the Spaniard raced in behind the Real defence and smashed the ball in the top corner, beating Thibaut Courtois at his near post from an unlikely angle.
