Championship Tips: It's 1st vs 2nd in a potential title decider - our tips for Wednesday evening

Wednesday night will see another round of Championship fixtures. These games are always important in such a hotly-contested division, but all eyes will certainly be on the early evening kick-off.

Table-topping Norwich City will face off against second-placed Brentford in one of the most hotly-anticipated matches in the Championship this season, kicking off at 5.30pm GMT.

A win for the Canaries would see them extend their lead at the top of the table to 10 points over the Bees and the rest of the division. So not only would three points for Daniel Farke's side go a long way to securing promotion, but it would also be a big step in bringing the Championship trophy back to Carrow Road at the end of the season.

We've taken a look at the rest of the fixtures in the Championship on Wednesday too, so here are our predictions and tips for the evening's action:

Bristol City win - Bristol City vs AFC Bournemouth (7.45pm kick-off GMT): Nigel Pearson's new side are a surprisingly long 7/2 with Paddy Power to beat Bournemouth at Ashton Gate on Wednesday night. Having earned impressive wins in both of Pearson's matches in charge, including coming from behind with a late flurry to beat Swansea City 3-1 at the weekend, alongside Bournemouth's erratic form and Jack Wilshere being suspended for the Cherries, another win for the Robins could be on the cards.

Sheffield Wednesday win - Sheffield Wednesday vs Rotherham United (7.45pm kick-off GMT): A massive game at the bottom of the table. Both teams are out of form, and a win for either side could see them close the gap to getting out of the relegation places, so a lot is at stake at Hillsborough. The Owls could have a fresh impetus about them after the appointment of Darren Moore as their new manager on Tuesday, so he will be looking to make an instant impact in the dugout - a Wednesday win is priced at 6/4 with Sky Bet.

Barnsley win - Queens Park Rangers vs Barnsley (7pm kick-off GMT): Alongside Cardiff City, Barnsley are a team in fine form and making a push for the play-off places. The Tykes have won their last five games and they could continue that with another victory against a QPR team who will be looking to avenge a 3-0 defeat against the Oakwell outfit in the reverse fixture this season. QPR had been on a run of six wins in seven in the league, but have recently stuttered. A Barnsley victory is priced at 6/4 with William Hill.

An accumulator with these three selections pays out approximately 27/1 with Paddy Power.
