North Macedonia to win at 9/2

Match won by a one goal margin at 7/5

Goran Pandev to score anytime at 7/2

North Macedonia are priced at 9/2 to beat Austria. That's a great price for a team that is enjoying a huge wave of momentum.

Just five years ago, the team hit rock bottom when they slumped to 162nd in FIFA's World Rankings. They're now in a major tournament for the first time since their Yugoslavia days and have absolutely nothing to lose.

The team managed by Igor Angelovski have won three of their last four games, including a 2-1 victory over Germany away in Duisburg.

Austria, on the other hand, have only managed one win from their last six internationals. That one solitary victory saw the Austrians beat the Faroe Islands 3-1 - not exactly a convincing performance.

Last Two Matches

Austria 2-1 North Macedonia (Euro 2020 Qualifiers - November 16, 2019)
On a cold evening in Vienna, it was Austria who prevailed in their Euro qualifier against North Macedonia.
David Alaba opened the scoring in the 7th minute as the hosts held on to their lead at half-time.
After the break, Stefan Lainer extended that lead with a goal in the 48th minute.
North Macedonia did get a goal back in stoppage time through Vlatko Stojanovski.
North Macedonia 1-4 Austria (Euro 2020 Qualifiers - June 10, 2019)
In their earlier meeting, Austria comprehensively beat their opponents in Skopje.
North Macedonia took the lead in the 18th minute when Martin Hinteregger put the ball into his own net.
Nevertheless, Austria responded well and grabbed a late first-half equaliser through Valentino Lazaro.
After the interval, Austria ran away with the game. Marko Arnautovic scored a second-half brace before an own goal from Egzon Bejtuai made sure of the win for the visitors.

Last two head-to-heads

Austria wins: 2

North Macedonia wins: 0

Austria goals: 6

North Macedonia goals: 2

Goran Pandev - the inspirational leader

If North Macedonia are to win, they'll need their captain Goran Pandev to be at his absolute best.
The 37-year-old might not be at his peak age however, the Genoa forward continues to score goals for his national side.

Goran Pandev celebrating his goal against Germany

After 119 international caps, Pandev has accumulated 37 goals making him the nation's top scorer.

At 7/2, he's well priced to score anytime against the Austrians.

Previous head-to-head wins out of the window

Austria did the double over North Macedonia in the qualifiers for this tournament.
However, that will count for nothing when the two sides clash this Sunday in Bucharest.

Austria boss, Franco Froda

For North Macedonia this is a free hit. Meanwhile Austria will be under more pressure considering they're the favourites ahead of kick off.

With Netherlands and Ukraine also participating in their group, Austria will view this as a must-win game if they hope to bag a Last 16 spot.
