Elche vs Athletic Bilbao

Having narrowly avoided the drop last season, Elche will be hoping for a much more convincing campaign in Spain's top-flight this time around.

Los Franjiverdes have made a number of signings in the transfer window, including the loan of Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.

The Athletic Bilbao team is in the circle

Fran Escriba's side prevailed against their opponents in the last meeting of the two sides, emerging 2-0 victors at the Manuel Martinez Valero stadium in May.

Despite this, Bilbao's attacking prowess of Inaki Williams and Iker Munain could prove to be immensely problematic for the home side.

With that in mind, we're backing the visitors.

Bologna vs Ternana

Although all seems straightforward on paper, the unpredictability of the Coppa Italia combined with Bologna's dismal finish to last season's Serie A campaign could make for an eventful occasion.

I Rossoblu failed to win in their final seven games last season as they finished in 12th place - something that will provide a sense of reassurement for the Serie B outfit.

Having conceded 65 goals in the league alone, a number of defensive frailties became apparent throughout their campaign.

Lukasz Skorupski, FC Bologna

Ternana were involved in a fiery qualifying round earlier this month against Avellino which saw both teams have a man sent off, before eventually prevailing on penalties.

This leaves the underdog in a favourable position should the game go the distance.

With that in mind, Bologna should have enough to advance to the next round.

Bologna to win is the pick in the betting.

Paris FC vs AJ Auxerre

It's second against fifth in Ligue 2 when Paris FC meet AJ Auxerre.

Paris FC's winning run in the French second division continued last week as they defeated ten-man Le Havre to make it three wins from three.

Auxerre's Alex Georgen and Marseille's Leonardo Balerdi

Auxerre have made a convincing case as promotion hopefuls with two wins and a draw from their first three games; most recently being held 0-0 by Ajaccio.

There's very little between the two sides and a draw seems a suitable tip in this clash.

Villarreal vs Granada

After a narrow defeat to Chelsea in the European Super Cup, the Yellow Submarine will be hoping to bounce back against Granada in their first La Liga match of the season.

Unai Emery has been busy with his cheque book over the summer, securing the signatures of Juan Foyth from Tottenham, Boulaye Dia, Manu Morlanes and Mandi.

Their opponents come in the form of an organised Granada side under the leadership of former Spain boss Robert Moreno.

Villarreal's Raul Albiol and Chelsea's Timo Werner battle for the ball during the UEFA Super Cup match at Windsor Park, Belfast.

Nazaries will go into this game on the back of some strong pre-season performances, including victories against Linense and Malaga.

Despite this, Granada have not beaten Villarreal in Spain's top flight since 2014 and it's hard to see that changing anytime soon

Unai Emery's well-oiled machine looks set for another three points here and Villareal to win is our recommendation.

Sochi vs Khimki

Following two successive victories, Sochi are beginning to build momentum in the Russian Premier League.

This Monday night they will take on a Khimki side which has so far picked up four points from their first three games of the season.

The two teams recently met in a pre-season friendly with Sochi coming out as 3-2 winners away from home.

FC Sochi head coach Vladimir Fedotov attends his team's 2020/2021 Russian Premier League Round 26 football match against CSKA Moscow

However, when it comes to competitive fixtures, the last three meetings all ended in draws.

Another close game is expected but considering the hosts have built some momentum, our tip is to back them in the outright market.
