Which Premier League teams win the most in-game corners?

Taking a corner kick has now become an art form, especially with dead-ball coaches starting to appear. But to make something from a corner kick, you need to win them in the first place.

We are just over halfway through the 2023/24 Premier League season and every team in England’s top-flight other than two clubs have had at least 91 corners. The exceptions being Nottingham Forest who have had 78 and Sheffield United who have had 73.

However, we are not focusing on the total number of corners that teams have had so far in this campaign but more the number of in-game corners the team manage to win.

Let’s take a look at the top 10 Premier League clubs when it comes to having the most in-game corners so far this season, which will hopefully give you some pointers on your corner fuelled bet-builders.

10. Chelsea

While Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues may not win an awful lot of corners compared to the teams at the top end of this chart, they do still get their fair share.

They have won eight or more corners in three of their 21 games so far this season.

The Blues just about edge into the top 10 of the in-game corners league table for 2023/24 so far with 107 in total.

9. Burnley

This one may come as a big surprise to many especially with the Clarets being a team who currently sit in the relegation zone of the Premier League and have done most of the season to this point.

Despite their struggles at both ends of the field, Vincent Kompany’s team have registered eight or more corners in their four of their 21 league games so far this campaign.

The Lancashire-based outfit sit eighth-place in the in-game corners league table with 112. This is a rather staggering 11 place higher than they sit in the actual league table.

8. Brighton & Hove Albion

The Seagulls appearing in the top 10 of a league table that involves an attacking statistic will probably come as no surprise to many but seeing them this low down certainly might.

Roberto De Zerbi’s team have had eight or more corners in five of their 21 league outings so far this season including 17 in one match in their home defeat to West Ham United back in August.

The club sit ninth-place in the overall in-game corners league table with 110 throughout the season so far.

7. AFC Bournemouth

The Cherries’ form has picked up in a big way in recent months so it may not be a surprise to see them appear on this occasion and they have become and attacking team who win plenty of in-game corners.

They have now had eight or more corners in five of their 20 league outings so far this season.

Andoni Iraola’s men also currently sit seventh-place in the overall in-game corners league table for the 2023/24 season with 118 up to this point.

6. Tottenham Hotspur

It turns out that Spurs are another team who win plenty of in-game corners. Ange Postecoglou’s side have won eight or more corners five times in their opening 21 league games, including 15 in one game which was in their dramatic home victory at home to Sheffield United back in September.

Spurs currently sit in sixth-place in the overall in-game corners league table so far in the 2023/24 campaign with 120 in their 21 league matches up to this point.

5. Aston Villa

The Villains have had an excellent Premier League season so far so it is not much of a shock that they have been winning plenty of in-game corners simply due to the amount of pressure that they have been putting the opposition team under.

Unai Emery’s men have had eight or more corners in six of their 21 league games so far and 10 or more on four occasions.

The West Midlands outfit currently sit in fifth-place in the league table for corners, registering 129 so far in the 2023/24 campaign.

4. Liverpool

The Reds are another team who tend to win a fair few in-game corners. They have had eight or more corners in six of their league games so far this season with three of them matches ending with Jurgen Klopp’s men having 12 by the final whistle.

The Reds currently sit in third-place when it comes to the league table for which Premier League teams have had the most corners so far the 2023/24 season having registered 138 in their first 21 league games.

3. Manchester United

The Red Devils may be having an underwhelming Premier League season so far but they have been winning a lot of in-game corners at least.

Erik ten Hag’s side have had eight or more corners in eight of their 21 league games so far in this campaign.

They also currently sit in fourth-place when it comes to the overall league table for in-game corners so far this season with 134.

2. Manchester City

It turns out that the current Premier League champions and the 2022/23 treble winners win plenty of corners themselves which is not much of a surprise considering how much they often dominate their opponents.

City have had eight or more corners on nine occasions so far this campaign and have managed at least 12 in five matches.

Pep Guardiola’s City side have had the second-most corners out of all Premier League teams so far in the 2023/24 season with 141.

1. Arsenal

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners have had eight or more corners in 12 of their league games which is over half the number of matches they have played so far in the 2023/24 PL campaign.

The North London outfit have also had the most corners out of any team in England’s top flight so far this season with 164 in their 21 league outings.
