VfL Bochum skipper Anthony Losilla signs new deal with the Bundesliga club

VfL Bochum long-time captain and midfielder Anthony Losilla has signed a new one-year-deal with the Bundesliga side.

The news that the 36-year-old Frenchman has signed a new deal was confirmed by the club on Wednesday, indicating that the Losilla planned to stay on at Bochum when his playing days were over in a coaching capacity.
The midfielder joined Bochum in July 2014 from German outfit Dynamo Dresden and has remained ever since.
Under the coaching regimes of Thomas Reis and Thomas Letsch this season, Losilla has started in all 15 Bundesliga games and is seen as a key member of the squad. He is expected to reach over 300 appearances for the Revierklub this season.
VfL sporting director Patrick Fabian was excited that role model Losilla was staying on at the club for the foreseeable future, and said: "Having 'Toto' [Losilla] in the squad means: sporting quality, diligence, experience, true identification with the club, and 100% focus on the job.
"Anthony Losilla is a role model and not just for young players. He always leads the way, whether in training or during the match. He's an absolute asset for the club," Fabian added.
Losilla said he and his family felt very comfortable at Bochum having spent so long at the club.
"I spent the longest part of my professional career in Bochum," Losilla said.
"The city and the club have grown on me, my family is here, we feel comfortable. My commitment is strong. I'm still burning for VfL and ready to support the team on the pitch. After my active career.
"I want to help inspire and train future generations of players for VfL," Losilla added.
