Halifax vs Gateshead verdict

It's important to mention that the FA Trophy final, contested by Halifax Town and Gateshead, will be preceded by the FA Vase final. Over 25,000 fans are expected to attend Wembley for the annual Non-League Finals Day.
In what was an extremely competitive Vanarama National League season, Halifax Town and Gateshead will have been disappointed not to make more of a challenge for the play-offs.
Gateshead finished the season with eight wins in their last 11 matches and looked a tough team to beat. Those efforts were undone by a slow start to the season and a winless October.
Halifax Town also finished the season in good nick, going unbeaten in their final nine matches and losing one of their final 15 overall.
The sides last met in March when they played out a less-than-thrilling 0-0 draw, but the Shaymen will hope to draw on the positive of experiencing of beating Gateshead 2-0 at home earlier in the season.
This can be a tricky event to bet on, but history does tell us that goes could be in short supply. Four of the last five finals finished 1-0 or 1-1 and 11 of the last 15 have had two or fewer goals in 90 minutes.
The most standout statistic is that Gateshead have never beaten Halifax. In 14 meetings, Halifax have won three and the remaining 11 have been draws, including both of their previous FA Trophy meetings
As well as backing Under 2.5 goals, we also think it's worth placing a small bet on the draw with extra time and penalties a possibility.
