Tottenham hot on the trail of record-breaking Fiorentina forward - but he will cost them £70m-plus

Spurs favourites to land Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, with Arsenal their closest rivals.

One of the most wanted players on the planet who still might not be on the radar of some soccer fans is Serbian superstar Dusan Vlahovic.

The Fiorentina striker is emerging as one of the finest striking prospects the Viola have ever seen, and they have seen a few in their time including Roberto Baggio, Gabriel Batistuta, Luca Toni, Enrica Chiesa and his son Federico.

The 21-year-old Vlahovic is about to become Fiorentina's record goalscorer for a calendar year, having already surpassed Toni and Batistuta. He is level on goals with Swedish legend Kurt Ronald Hamrin - who set the mark of 27 in 1960.
It is the sort of form that has seen some of Europe's top clubs show a real interest in landing him - despite Fiorentina's £70million-plus asking fee.

Favourites for his signature are Tottenham at 5/1. Antonio Conte is known to be a huge fan having seen him at close quarters while in charge at Inter Milan.

Indeed, bookmakers think north London is his most likely destination should he move in January, with Arsenal - who first approached him in the summer - also rated at 5/1.

Manchester City, who remain in need of a striker, are rated at 10/1 to secure his services, while long-term admirers Juventus are at 12/1 to clinch his signature in January.
