Thomas Tuchel: Sadio Mane has fallen short of expectations at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel admits troubled winger Sadio Mane has failed to live up to the hype since joining the club.

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel says Sadio Mane has "fallen short of expectations" since his arrival at the club.
Mane's move from Liverpool now has question marks floating around it after a poor first season in Bavaria. The Senegal international started only 18 times in the league and scored seven goals.
He also had a well-publicised bust-up with teammate Leroy Sane in April, which left Sane with a bloody lip. The 31-year-old was given a record fine for the club and suspended for one game.
Owing to poor form and his off-the-field misdemeanours the Reds great has fallen in the pecking order behind Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry, with Tuchel saying the side already has its "constellation".
"Basically, Sadio had an unsatisfactory season and fell short of expectations," said the Bayern boss.
"The competitive situation is extremely high for him with Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry, we have a constellation which makes it very difficult for Sadio. The player knows that too, he knows my opinion and the opinion of the club."
Mane is being linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq, who have Liverpool great Steven Gerrard at the helm and are reportedly also looking to sign several former and current Reds including Jordan Henderson and Philippe Coutinho.
