Social Zone: Can Brighton give overexcited Manchester United fans a dose of reality?
Many Manchester United fans came back from hibernation to gloat about their team’s 4-0 victory over Liverpool.
Jadon Sancho, Fred, Anthony Martial and Facundo Pellistri were all on target as Erik ten Hag enjoyed a noteworthy pre-season win.
On paper, the result may look emphatic. However, we must bear in mind that both teams made a tonne of changes and both have just recently returned to training.
Some United fans have omitted those facts and made the most of the rare win. An understandable reaction considering the club's recent string of failures.
The post below sums up quite well what Man United's twitter has looked like following the result.
Erik Ten Hag is going to win the Premier League next season, the FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League, Strictly Come Dancing, X-Factor, Love Island. The lot. pic.twitter.com/dzDjeOu6sI

Losing 1-0 against Brighton in the first game of the season should bring them back down to Earth again.

You know rugby league in England has hit rock bottom when the two biggest stories during a World Cup year are a Nadine Dorries' union gaffe and Jacques O'Neill quitting Love Island.
