Robbie Savage’s FA Cup final prediction: Man City to hand Man Utd a Wembley thumping

The FA Cup final takes place this Saturday and former Premier League star Robbie Savage is here to preview the famous fixture.

This year’s Wembley showdown certainly has a lot at stake. For Man City, this is an opportunity to become the first team in English football history to win back-to-back league-cup doubles.

For Man Utd, the FA Cup offers the club one last opportunity at European football. More importantly, a win could buy Erik ten Hag another season at the club.

Here, Savage looks ahead to the huge fixture, providing a score prediction at the end.

Man City vs Man Utd (Sat, 1500 BST)

It’s another Manchester derby in the FA Cup final. Back-to-back Manchester derbies at Wembley. Who’s going to lift the trophy?

You’ve got to think Man City. Just two defeats from 45 games in all competitions.

They’re taking on Manchester United who won just four of their last 13 games in the Premier League, their lowest ever Premier League finish, minus goal difference for the first time in their Premier League history.

It all points to Man City, but the big question is by how many goals.

It would be a big shock if Manchester United win it. Like when Wigan beat Man City at Wembley. But I can’t see it. I think Man City, they’re going for the double, they’ll win comfortably.

I’m going to go with Man City four, Manchester United one.

Robbie’s prediction: Man City 4-1 Man United
