Real Sociedad missed opportunity to boost Champions League hopes in draw with Cadiz

Real Sociedad missed a golden chance to strengthen their position in the race for a UEFA Champions League spot as they were held to a lacklustre 0-0 draw by Cadiz in Friday night's La Liga fixture.
Despite having the advantage of playing before their rivals, who were not in action until the weekend, La Real failed to capitalize and struggled to find their rhythm at the Estadio Anoeta.
Neither side created much in the early stages, with Carlos Fernandez missing a good opportunity just before half-time.
The hosts were denied what they thought was a penalty on the hour mark, with VAR ruling out their claims, as the visitors held firm to secure a valuable point.
Real Sociedad will now turn their attention to their Europa League last 16 first leg clash against AS Roma, while Cadiz will host Getafe in a crucial relegation battle next weekend.
