Yet, the shine on their promising start has dimmed due to a string of injuries plaguing the team. Among the casualties are stalwarts like goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, Brazilian defender Eder Militao, and newcomer midfielder Arda Guler. To temporarily fill Courtois' spot, the club enlisted Chelsea's goalie Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan.

Ceballos' resurgence will undoubtedly invigorate the team, given the imperative of squad depth for achieving their goals. His competition for a midfield spot will be intense, considering the formidable presence of legends like Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, whose places aren't guaranteed this season.
Meanwhile, Mendy's return will bolster the team's defensive line. With the sole left-back spot left vacant due to Mendy's injury, the recent reacquisition of Fran Garcia from Rayo Vallecano underscores the urgency.
