Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti to rest players ahead of Champions League semifinal second leg

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti will give several players a breather for Saturday's La Liga clash with Getafe ahead of Wednesday's Champions League semifinal with Manchester City.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has said he will rest some players for the weekend's La Liga encounter with Getafe ahead of the massive Champions League semifinal clash against Manchester City.
Real will go into the match off the back of a 1-1 draw against City at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night, which means they face a tough task in the return leg in Manchester on Wednesday.
Their continental exertions toook their toll on some players, with trio Karim Benzema, Rodrygo Goes and David Alaba all picking up a niggle and definite non-starters, while there are several other players who are doubtful.
"We still have some doubts with players who picked up knocks Tuesday and have not yet recovered," said the Italian tactician.
"(Ferland) Mendy and (Dany) Ceballos will return, they can play tomorrow.
"I won't be taking risks as we have fresh players but it will be a very demanding match against an opponent that's fighting against relegation.
"The players who have doubts are not going to play and those who do play have time to recuperate.
"We'll try to win tomorrow with the best team possible.
"I'll try to preserve tired players but those who are available will play."
