  • PSG Should Apologise To Lionel Messi Ex Premier League And Argentina Ace Defends Former Teammate

PSG should apologise to Lionel Messi - Ex Premier League and Argentina ace defends former teammate

The former Premier League winner is not happy with the way Lionel Messi has been treated by PSG.

Ex West Ham, Manchester City and Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez came out in defence of his former international teammate Lionel Messi.

The three-time Premier League was left unimpressed by the way Messi has been treated following his recent excursion to Saudi Arabia.

The unauthorised trip led to a two-week suspension for the former Barcelona forward - something that simply doesn't sit right with Tevez.

Speaking to TyC Sports, the 39-year-old said: "I think Messi gives us all a humbling blow. Because if you told me, when I was world champion, that I had to apologise for going on a trip when I had a day off, I'd go back to Rosario and stay there drinking mate. You'd have to apologise to me!

"Then we can say a lot of things about a club that didn't really look after him. From the first moment he arrived, they didn't look after him. That's how it is."
Upon returning from Saudi Arabia, Messi publicly apologised to the club and the fans.
The player has since been linked with a blockbuster move to Al-Hilal - a transfer which the Saudi club have denied.
Messi arrived in Paris in 2021 and has since scored 31 goals in 71 appearances for the club.
The World Cup winner in on course to win his successive Ligue 1 crown with the club, though frustrations remain over the club's continuous failures in the Champions League.

It's unknown where the 35-year-old will ply his trade next season, with a possible return to Barcelona still on the cards.
