Lamine Yamal in action for Spain in a UEFA Nations League semi-final

Just a week on from hosting the Champions League final, Munich’s Allianz Arena will once again play host to a major title showdown as Portugal take on Spain in the UEFA Nations League showpiece.

History will be made in Bavaria this Sunday as the two of the three previous Nations League winners battle it out in the first ever all-Iberian final in any major competition.

Portugal sealed their spot in the final on Wednesday when Roberto Martinez and his men came back from a goal down to beat Germany 2-1.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning goal as Portugal ended their 25-year wait for a victory over the Germans.

For the 40-year-old Sunday marks an opportunity to win his third major title with the national team. Considering his age, it could also be his last involvement with the national side at a major tournament.

Then again, when you take into account his shatterproof mentality and exceptional physicality, you certainly wouldn’t put another World Cup appearance past him.

Sunday also marks a special occasion for manager Roberto Martinez who will be targeting his first managerial win over the country of his birth, Spain.

Speaking of Luis de la Fuente’s side, the European champions proved they are still a force to be reckoned with after beating France 5-4 in an epic semi-final.

Should Spain win the competition on Sunday, they will head to the 2026 World Cup with a rare opportunity to hold all three major international titles at one time. A potentially unprecedented achievement.

Scoring goals has been their forte in recent times, with the Spaniards rattling the net 18 times across their last six matches – an average of three goals per match.

In fairness to Portugal, they too have no problems when it comes to finding the back of the net. Martinez and his men have scored 13 goals across their last five matches, firing five goals past Denmark and Poland along the way.

With both teams operating at their peak, all signs point to an exciting final in Munich. Here, we take a closer look at the fixture and pick out some of the best bets along the way.

    Portugal v Spain best bets

Spain to score first – 8/11

Both teams to score – 4/7

Nuno Mendes to assist – 10/1

Lamine Yamal to score anytime – 9/4

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

Neutrals all over the world will be tuning into this game expecting a high-scoring thriller. With that in mind, both teams to score is an easy addition to the acca.

In terms of who scores first, we are backing Spain. De la Fuente’s side have not conceded the first goal in any of their last 10 matches and we’re backing that run to continue.

Portugal are a threat going forward and one man to watch is Nuno Mendes who has provided an assist in all six of his team’s Nations League victories this season.

However, the main man is undoubtedly Spain’s Lamine Yamal. Barcelona’s superstar scored twice against France, and we are backing the 17-year-old to give Portugal’s defence a run for their money.
