Plymouth v Liverpool: Predictions, tips and bet builder as Reds gamble with quadruple dreams

Federico Chiesa of Liverpool shares a joke with Kostas Tsimikas of Liverpool

Plymouth will be looking to pull off one of the all-time great FA Cup shocks when they take on Liverpool in the fourth round (Sunday, 1500 GMT).

The Championship side have got home advantage heading into Sunday’s encounter, but that doesn’t count for much when the opposition are the current Champions League and Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Everyone knows Arne Slot will field kids for this encounter, but that won’t make Plymouth feel any better.

Liverpool’s kids and bench warmers still make for a strong side – one which will give Plymouth their hardest test of the season.

Here, we take a closer look at this FA Cup mis-match and pick out some of the best bets along the way.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

Plymouth v Liverpool

Liverpool -1 handicap – 40/85

Over 3.5 goals – 21/20

Federico Chiesa to score anytime – 5/4

Over 22.5 booking points – 6/5

Liverpool -1 handicap

Getting a good price on the Reds in this one is a tough ask. However, the handicap market always helps when it comes to finding value.

We know that Liverpool will field a weakened side, the only question is how many goals their bench-warmers will be able to score against Championship’s weakest defence.

Three of the last four games have seen Liverpool land the -1 handicap bet, although it wasn’t their B team doing the damage.

Then again, a lot of the players not getting game time will be looking to impress as they vie for those all-important match minutes.

Over 3.5 goals

Three of Liverpool’s last four games have also seen the over 3.5 goals bet land. Arne Slot’s machine bagged four against Ipswich, two against PSV, two against Bournemouth and four against Tottenham last time out.

Games featuring Plymouth have also hit the spot in terms of goals. Unfortunately for the Pilgrims, most of them have seen their own net rattle.

Federico Chiesa to score anytime

When Federico Chiesa first arrived at Anfield, he must have thought his footballing dreams came true.

Those dreams quickly turned to regret, with the Italian spending most of his time on the bench.

Chiesa scored in the last round of the FA Cup against Accrington and we backed him to do so on that occasion. We’re going for a repeat against Plymouth as the Italian battles for a regular spot in the team.

Over 22.5 booking points

Over 22.5 booking points means we only need three yellow cards to hit the jackpot. That’s not a lot.

With Plymouth expected to be on the back foot, statistically they should concede more fouls which in turn should produce more bookings.
