Paul Pogba waiting for Zinedine Zidane appointment ahead of PSG move

The Frenchman is an admirer of Zidane and is weighing up his options after it was confirmed that he would be leaving Manchester United.

Paul Pogba has set his heart on a move to Paris Saint-Germain - as long as Zinedine Zidane is confirmed as their new manager.

Luis Campos - the new PSG director - is set to make his first decision to biggest by sacking Mauricio Pochettino in favour of Zidane.

Pochettino - who joined the club in 2020 - won Ligue 1 but ultimately failed in his quest to win the Champions League, surrendering two-goal advantage to lose 3-2 on aggregate in the round of 16.

Reports suggested that they had sounded out Jose Mourinho for the position but he has turned them down to remain at Roma.

Zidane has not worked in football since resigning from Real Madrid in 2019/20. During his two spells at Los Blanco, Zidane won two La Liga titles and lifted the Champions League on three occasions.
Pogba - who has been offered a Juventus return - said: "I just want the best for me, I'm thinking like putting everything together," Pogba told UNINTERRUPTED .
"Take my time and I'm just looking for the best. I just want to play football, be myself always and enjoy what I do.
"I need to enjoy what I do because otherwise I cannot perform well. I don't want to be thinking negative.
"We can be losing games, losing trophies but you have to be happy where you are and enjoy yourself. That's what I'm looking for."
"As long as you click first of all with the team, the fans, with the club that knows you and loves you. When you're free mentally, you enjoy yourself and that's when you perform," Pogba added.
"Everyone wants to feel loved, everybody needs that, your soul needs that. I'ts always good to feel that the work you do is appreciated.
"People around make a huge difference because they can cheer you up or bring you down."
