Oxford Utd v Leeds Utd: Prediction, tips and bet builder as Whites close in on Premier League dream

Daniel Farke manager of Leeds United embraces Ao Tanaka
The fight for Premier League football continues on Friday night when Leeds United travel to Oxford for a tasty Championship fixture (2000 GMT).
Considering there’s just five regular season games remaining, plus the fact Leeds are five points clear of third-placed Sheffield United, it’s hard to envisage how Daniel Farke’s side could possibly miss out on automatic promotion.
The Whites endured a spring hiccup which saw them drop 11 points in six games, but the Yorkshire outfit have since bounced back with consecutive wins over Middlesbrough and Preston.
While we are struggling to see how Leeds could mess this up, you have to remember that this is Leeds United we’re talking about. Anything, and we mean anything, is possible when it comes to this club.
Looking at the table, Friday’s game shouldn’t cause too much concern for Farke and his side. However, a closer look at Oxford would tell a different story.
Here, we take a closer look at Friday’s encounter and pick out some of the best bets along the way. If you put them into a Betway bet builder they will give you odds of around 8/1.

Leeds to win and BTTS
League leaders Leeds come into Friday’s match as heavy favourites, which shouldn’t come as a surprise.
The Whites boast the best attack in the league, scoring 82 goals across their 42 games – that’s 19 more than the next best team.
Leeds also have the second-best defensive record in the competition, with only Burnley managing to concede fewer goals.
Clearly, Oxford are in for a tough night. However, the U’s will be feeling somewhat optimistic following a run of three wins from five games.
One of those wins came against another promotion contender, Sheffield United. The Blades still haven’t recovered from that defeat and have since gone on a three-match winless run.
Rowett’s men are far stronger at home than they are away, which is why we’re adding the BTTS element to our opening bet.
Over 2.5 goals
Leeds fans have been blessed with goals this season, including eight across their last five games.
The over 2.5 goal bet has landed in three of their previous five outings, with last weekend’s 2-1 win over Preston making the list.
The previous three competitive meetings between Oxford and Leeds have produced three of more goals. With that in mind, we’re backing over 2.5 goals on Friday night.
Over 8.5 corners
We’re digging deep into statistics for our final bet in this game.
Leeds and Oxford both average over 10 corners per match, with the Yorkshire outfit going on to win more corners than any other team in the competition.
Leeds have seen over 8.5 corners in 74% of their games, while for Oxford that percentage is 69%. Based on those figures, we’re adding over 8.5 corners to our bet builder.
