Next Tottenham manager betting odds: Thomas Frank hot favourite to replace sacked Ange Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou brought silverware back to Tottenham, but that wasn't enough to save his job after a terrible season. Which of the big names are lining up to take the vacant hotseat in North London?

Ange Postecoglou finally bit the bullet on Friday evening, despite bringing Tottenham their first trophy in 17 years after beating Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final.

It wasn't enough to save his skin, after a truly dire Premier League campaign for Tottenham which the club end the season with their lowest points since the competition began and their most defeats in a single campaign.

Who are the runners and riders to take the helm at Tottenham ahead of the 2025/26 season.

(All odds are correct at the time of the article's last update.)

    Thomas Frank (Brentford) - 1/6

    Thomas Frank

The Dane has been yo-yoing around this market for most of the season. Shuttling between 25/1 to 100/1 to 11/2 in February and March.

In April he dropped slightly from 11/2 to 17/2, but a four game winning streak as the season drew to a close bumped Frank up to 6/1.

He dropped to 4/7 favourite as more reports in the media poured more petrol on the Tottenham job fire, and then the seemingly nailed on 1/6 after Postecoglou got the sack.

    Marco Silva (Fulham) -  9/2

    Marco Silva

Considering Marco Silva is only 47 he's had quite a nomadic career in the 13 years he's been a manager.

Fulham is his seventh club since he took over Estoril in 2011 and he appears to have settled in West London, as this is the longest time he's spent anywhere.

However, as his time at Watford showed he can have his head turned by another club fluttering their eyelashes at him - that time it was Everton and that didn't go very well.

He's done a great job at Fulham and his star is on the ascendancy once again, could he be lured across London?

Oliver Glasner (Crystal Palace) - 14/1

    Oliver Glasner

Oliver Glasner was the 4/1 favourite after leading Crystal Palace to their first FA Cup trophy after beating Manchester City 1-0 at Wembley.

He was 16/1 before the Cup final to take the Spurs job, now he's floating between 6/1 and 14/1 as the Spurs job became vacant.

Glasner is also being courted by several clubs in Europe this summer, so this might not be a straight forward plug-in and play situation.

    Scott Parker (Burnley) - 14/1

    Scott Parker

Burnley boss and former Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker was a big climber at the end of the season coming in at 6/1 based on reports that Chris Waddle believed that the former Bournemouth boss would 'love to get the Tottenham job'.

That statement spooked the bookies and they slashed his odds, but they've seen reason in the last week and pushed him back out to 14/1.

Xavi Hernandez (no club) - 20/1

    Xavi Hernandez

Xavi Hernandez leapt from 16/1 to one of the favourites at 11/2 as the Premier League season drew to a close, but he's drifted out to 20/1 in the last couple of weeks.

Xavi like a sparkly appointment on the surface, but being a great player does not guarantee being a great manager.

Managed to win the 2022/23 La Liga with Barcelona, but struggled in the Champions League and that's what finished him off in the end.

Didn't have a great relationship with the Barcelona board, and for Xavi this could be stepping from one fire into another.

He's drifted out to 20/1 in the last couple of weeks.

Roberto De Zerbi (Marseille) - 20/1

    Roberto De Zerbi

Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi was a big climber after reports in the Italian media claimed that Tottenham had 'long dreamed of hiring De Zerbi'.

De Zerbi had been way down at 25/1 until this rumour and leapt to 6/1 as a result.

But his odds doubled with Glasner and Parker quickly climbing the market and he ended the season on 16/1, even though Marseille finished second in Ligue 1.

He's fallen down the market to 20/1 in the last week or so.

    Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth) - 20/1

    Andoni Iraola

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola climbed from 10/1 to 11/2 in April, and had been in and around that mark as the season draws to a close.

Glasner joining the fight knocked Iraola down from 5/1 to 10/1, and he pushed out slightly to 20/1 at the end of the season.

    Mauricio Pochettino  (USA) - 20/1

    Mauricio Pochettino

The romantic's pick is current USA boss Mauricio Pochettino, who led Tottenham to the promised land of zero trophies between 2014 and 2019.

Currently thinking is that Poch will come back as he now appears to be on a sticky wicket with the USA, as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup.

Losing to Panama in the CONCACAF Nations League semi-final drew a lot of criticism, and bigger test will come this summer in the Gold Cup, which the US are favourites.

Please remember this isn't a Football Manager save, managing a club and an international side at the same time, is rare and isn't that easy, and also annoys both your bosses.

Despite Postecoglou collecting his 22nd Premier League defeat of the season against Brighton, Pochettino's odds fell from 8/1 to 12/1 and further to in and around the 20s.

    Kieran McKenna (Ipswich) - 25/1

    kieran mckenna of Ipswich

The Ipswich manager shot up this market before Christmas and is still among the big players for the job.

This is probably nothing more than some wild media speculation and that he worked in the Tottenham academy, so will be worth keeping an eye on.

Ipswich returning to the Championship hasn't helped his odds of taking over Spurs and he's slipped from 15/2 to 12/1 and then further out to 25/1.

    Francesco Farioli - 33/1

    Francesco Farioli

If there ever was a truly more Tottenham appointment than Francesco Farioli then I don't know what is.

Farioli's Ajax threw away a nine-point lead in the Eredivisie to allow PSV Eindhoven to snatch the title off them on the final day of the season. Unsurprisingly the Italian left the club the following day.

Farioli managed Fatih Karagumurk and Alanyaspor in Turkey, as well as taking Nice to fifth place in Ligue 1 last season. Hardly a CV that's going to get Spurs fans thrilled.

He's been as short as 8/1, but now appears to be shuttling between 10/1 and 33/1 depending on which way the wind is blowing.

Backing Farioli in the next Brentford manager market might be a safer bet, if Frank leaves.

    Carlos Corberan (Valencia) - 33/1

    Carlos Corberan

Corberan's stock is on the rise after dragging Valencia away from relegation to a mid-table finish in La Liga.

Like Silva he's another nomadic manager and has already been at four clubs this decade alone.

He also has no Premier League experience, and Valencia is his hometown club, so prising him away might be tricky.

    Michael Carrick (Middlesbrough) - 40/1

    Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick

Former Tottenham midfielder who made over sixty appearances for the club, and then like so many others left and became even better.

He failed to take Middlesbrough back to the promised land, and it cost him his job at the start of June.

An inexperienced Championship manager who failed to gain promotion would feel like a big risk to Tottenham, when they tend to go for managers with a big reputation or Premier League know-how.

    Brendan Rodgers (Celtic) - 40/1

    Brendan Rodgers

The former Leicester boss continues to pick up silverware at Celtic and has bounced between 14/1 and 40/1 as the season ended.

After leaving his first spell at Celtic for the bright lights of er...Leicester, bookies know that Rodgers can be lured from Glasgow.

Gareth Southgate (no club) - 40/1

    Gareth Southgate

Starting to feel a bit sorry for Gareth Southgate, he did a great job with England and yet the negativity around Euro 2024, even though they got to the final, appears to have blotted his copy book.

Unless he hangs on for a huge job, then Tottenham is the kind of club he could ease himself back into club management with, even though it would turn the Spurs faithful purple with rage.

If Rooney and Lampard can get a Championship job by being very ordinary managers, then Southgate should aim a lot higher.

Edin Terzic (no current club) - 50/1

    Edin Terzic

Edin Terzic was favourite for the job over Christmas, but has started to drift after that.

The 42-year-old took Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final and lost the league title on goal difference to Bayern Munich on the final day of the season.

Claims that the former Borussia Dortmund boss was about to replace Postecoglou started to circulate around Christmas and aren't going away.

Besiktas presidential candidate Serdal Adali announced that Terzic expected to succeed Postecoglou at Tottenham and that's why the Turkish club have given him a swerve.

There's been much wailing from Spurs fans about the rumour as you'd expect, but luckily for them he's now dropped from 12/1 then 20/1 and now 50/1.

    Jose Mourinho (Fenerbahce) - 50/1

    Jose Mourinho

Never return to a lit firework, ex-partner or restaurant that once gave you food poisoning.

These rules apply here too, even though Jose Mourinho laughs in the face of a used sparkler that hasn't been placed carefully in a bucket of water.

His odds have been as low as 125/1 for most of the year, but after a report in the Italian media that the door could be open for a return to Spurs, he leapt up to 33/1 before falling back to 50/1.

    Eddie Howe (Newcastle) -  50/1

    Eddie Howe

Jumping from one club with delusions of grandeur to another, just with fewer black stripes on their shirt, would be a truly foolish move for Eddie Howe.

He left Bournemouth for what he considered to be a step up in Burnley (yes, that was a thing) and it didn't work out very well for him.

Now with a Carabao Cup win under his belt, sometimes it's just best to stay put and bask in the love of your fans, rather having to do it all again somewhere else.

Thiago Motta (no club) - 50/1

    Thiago Motta

Straight in at 12/1 after being sacked by Juventus in March, Motta was a highly-rated manager before he moved to Turin.

Motta led Serie A side Bologna to ninth in his first season, and then Champions League qualification in 2023/24, for the first since time since the 1964/65 European Cup, by finishing fifth. He also saved Spezia from relegation from Serie A before he joined Bologna.

Juventus is a tough place to be if things aren't going your way, so maybe Tottenham might be more his pace.

He's started to slide as the season came to a close and is now down at 50/1.

    Julian Nagelsmann (Germany) - 50/1

    Julian Nagelsmann

That Tottenham believe that they are a big enough club to lure a top international manager away from his job is certainly admirable.

Once again Nagelsmann would really have to drop the ball with Germany to be in the running for this job, if he'd even consider it.

    Didier Deschamps (France) -  50/1

    Didier Deschamps

The current France boss shot up this market to 8/1 after the annoucement of Graham Potter appointment at West Ham, but sense prevailed and he's now levelled out at 50/1.

It feels a bit left field, as he's still got another 12 months on his contract with the France national side and is preparing for the 2026 World Cup.

But he has said he will step down after that tournament. It certainly feels like Tottenham will have to wait a long time if they go down this route.

Steven Gerrard (no club) - 50/1

    Steven Gerrard

Now looking for a new club after leaving Saudi outfit Al-Ettifaq in late January. This would be a wild choice.

Though Gerrard won the Scottish title at Rangers, he didn't cover himself in glory at Aston Villa or tucked away in the Saudi Pro League.

He pushed out from an initial 25/1 to 50/1 after being heavily linked with the Rangers job, which he eventually swerved.

Unai Emery (Aston Villa) - 66/1

Bit of an odd one having the former Arsenal manager fairly high up the Tottenham market.

He's done a fantastic job at Villa, and they are similar sort of clubs in size and expectation.

But we can't see him jumping ship to return to North London.

Sean Dyche (no club) - 80/1

    Sean Dyche

This is a good one, the Ginger Mourinho snuck into this market at 16/1 without anyone really noticing.

Like a US tariff, Sean Dyche might be exactly the spoonful of medicine Tottenham need.

He's now drifted way down to 80/1 and you can hear a collective sigh of relief from the Spurs faithful.
